Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji was born in 1469 announcement at Rai Bhoi’s Talwandi which is currently called Nankana Sahib. His father’s name was Mehta Kalyan Das and his mama’s name was Mata Tripta. His father was the Kardar and Mukhtar of Rai Bular, a gentleman of Talwandi and its girding area. He used to do his work with full capability, honesty and godly mercy. Because of this, all the people of the area used to sing his praises and glorify him. At the same time, Rai Bular had full confidence in his capability.
Guru Ji’s elder sister’s name was Bebe Nanki Ji. Sister Nanki ji was about 5 years older than you. Sri Guru Nanak Sahib Ji used to call his elder sister ‘Babe Ji’. His brother was named Nanak in the name of Bebe Nanki. Bebe Nanaki ji was the first Sikh who had direct darshan of Sri Guru Nanak Sahib Ji’s Kartari Jot and received his teachings. In time, Bebe ji got married to Sultanpur Lodhi’s Diwan Jai Ram ji. It was because of the love of Bhaiya Jai Ram that Sri Guru Nanak Sahib stayed in Sultanpur Lodhi in his later life.
Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji Childhood
Sri practitioner Nanak Sahib wasn’t like ordinary children indeed in his nonage. He was a gratified and thoughtful person from the morning. When he saw someone in need, he would feel happy to give whatever he could get from home. Because of these childhood choices, he became popular with everyone. At the age of seven, he was transferred to study under a Brahmin schoolteacher from whom he learned Devanagari as well as mathematics and secretary.

Guru Nanak Grazing Buffaloes
Guru Sahib Ji became a herdsman of cows and buffaloes. One day Guru Sahib Ji took the cows and buffaloes into the forest like every other day. Cows and buffaloes are grazing. Soon Aapji’s life was connected with God. The cattle were herded in the barn of Bhatti Jat. Seeing this, he got pale. On seeing Guru Sahib Ji, he started saying, ‘Look, he came from home to graze cattle and came here to sleep under the shade of a tree.’ Guru Sahib Ji opened his eyes cautiously and gave him Dharvas. But he got angry and took Vag to Rai Bular.

Rai Bular sent a man to estimate the loss of the crop to make a decision. But when Pelli Banna came up, agriculture was flourishing. Roy Bular’s men told him all the circumstances. Seeing this tragedy, Rai Bular was convinced that you are a special teacher gifted by God.
Guru Ji And Snake
After a few days, Rai Bular saw another Kautak. He was returning back to a nearby village on a horse. He saw that Sri Guru Nanak Sahib ji was fast asleep in the shade of a tree. Cows and buffaloes are sitting encircled around him. When he came closer, he saw that a funnier snake was sitting in the shade of Guru Sahib. Hearing the clatter of the horse’s hooves, the snake ran away. Guru Sahib Ji sat up and looked towards Rai Bular with a loving smile.

Roy Bular saw this Kautak and fell at the feet of Guru Sahib. From that day he became a staunch devotee of Guru Sahib Ji. Right from the beginning, Aap Ji’s nature was argumentative. You used to call wrong wrong and right right. At the age of nine, when Aap Ji was asked to complete the ritual of wearing the Janeu, Aap Ji opposed it saying that they would wear the Janeu which does not break and rot but also wears it to the next Dargah. Due to Aap Ji’s state of being absorbed in God all the time, his father suspected that Aap Ji might have some physical disease, so he called a doctor for treatment.
Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji While Addressing The Physician Said:
ਵੈਦੁ ਬਲਾਇਆ ਵੈਦਗੀ ਪਕੜਿ ਢੰਢੋਲੇ ਬਾਂਹ॥
ਭੋਲਾ ਵੈਦੁ ਨ ਜਾਣਈ ਕਰਕ ਕਲੇਜੇ ਮਾਹਿ॥ (ਅੰਗ 1279)
Father was willing to engage himself in some business or trade. Father gave him some money and sent him to the neighbouring town to buy goods for the Chuharkane business. On the way, he met a group of good men. You spent all the money to provide them with food and help. Gurdwara Sacha Sauda is still present at the place where Aap ji used to eat food. Dissatisfied with his behaviour, his father allowed him to go to Sultanpur Lodhi to Bhai Jai Ram. Jai Ram ji recommended Aap ji’s education and good nature to Nawab Daulat Khan of Sultanpur Lodhi and gave him a suitable job.
Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji At Modi Khana
Guru Ji was given a job in Modikhane where the grain collected as tax was sold among the people. Guru Sahib ji, while performing the work of Modikhane with great ability, taught Manukhta to speak the truth, to be honest and to behave honestly. You would help the needy as much as possible within your jurisdiction. According to the ancient Janmasakhi, one day a needy person came to buy supplies. The Nawab, following the gossip of the people, locked up Shri Guru Nanak Sahib in the dungeon. But when all the computations were confirmed, it turned out to be an increase and Guru Sahib Ji was set up to be innocent. The Nawab was convinced of Guru Sahib Ji’s ability and sincerity and the slanderers and gossipers had to lower their heads. You used to worship God by being immersed in the memory of Tera-Tera.
Sri Guru Nanak’s Marriage
At the age of eighteen, Aap ji got married to Bibi Sulakhni ji, the daughter of Mr Mool Chand ji, a resident of Batala. Two sons Baba Lakhmi Das Ji and Baba Sri Chand Ji were born in his house. You ji ran the Modikhana in a very efficient manner and this work played an important role in changing the attitude of father ji towards you. At night, Aap Ji used to sing the glory of God and a Muslim Bhai Mardana Ji accompanied Aap Ji by playing the harp.

Guru Nanak’s Disappearance
At the end of the day, one day at Amrit, you went to take a bath in the river Venai. You became one with God while taking a bath and realized that you are standing in front of Almighty God. Aap ji received blessings from Akalpurakh to fulfil his life purpose. After three days, when he came out of the river again, he gave his first sermon, “We are neither Hindu nor Muslim.” This Mahavak created excitement among the people. On the complaint of the city kaji, he was presented before the Nawab and asked to express his views.

To make his views clear, Aap Ji accompanied the critics to the mosque where the Qazi led the worshipers to offer Namaz. You did not join the prayer. When Kazi and Nawab asked him about this, he clearly said that Kazi ji, instead of offering namaz, you were worrying about a new heifer at home, and when Nawab died, he used to buy horses in Kabul.
In this way, I was absent even while praying, so if I did not join in the prayer, then what sin had been committed? Both of them were very embarrassed to hear the words of this inner soul knower. After this incident, Aap ji left the job of Daulat Khan and decided to start the life purpose assigned by Akalpurakh.
